What we did
We conducted an extensive scoping study to gain insights from marginalised voices  who have tried to access non-academic fellowships programs in India. This study also tapped into the experiences of organisations running these programmes. It helped us  understand the strategies they develop and the challenges they encounter. We  facilitated the announcement of the fellowship programme in early 2023 and supported  the team for the launch of phase 1 of the programme.  In addition to that, we  compiled the learnings, experience, and relationships from the programme and provided the Avazein team with other relevant documents.

Outcome
We were able to successfully develop a programme that is accessible, adaptable, and effective for individuals belonging to marginalised communities and identities. The fellowship provides support to those who are working or aiming to work on issues related to human rights, democratic rights and constitutional values, in various parts of India.
