Ramit serves as the specialized consultant for Local Governance, Decentralized Planning and Climate Change. With 23+ years of experience, he has lent his expertise largely to the domain of Local Government Reforms and Capacity Development, SDG thematic based Decentralized Planning and off late been working in leveraging Local Governance and Community Action to achieve Climate Resilience through Biodiversity Restoration and other means.
He holds a B. Tech. in Appropriate (Rural) Technology, a Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Law and Policy and a Masters in Public Administration with several short term and certificate courses in the field of Sustainable Development, Biodiversity Conservation etc. He has experience working with NGOs, INGOs, UN Agencies, Government (Central and State including Expert Committees on Decentralization), Consultancy Firms and has largely worked in India (in more than half a dozen states) as well as brief experiences with UN and International Agencies in a few developing countries in Asia and Africa. Ramit has also conducted assessment, evaluations, research and studies as an independent consultant for quite a few organizations. He is a member of the IUCN's CEESP as well as Global Alliance for the Rights of Nature (GARN). He has a few publications to his credit. Ramit loves to travel, is a nature lover, prefers selective socializing, and enjoys different cuisines.
